Bayou City Artisans

Bayou City Artisans is a local chapter representing International Decorative Artisans League, which is a national chapter of artists, decorative artisans, muralists, stencilists, and other trades. Since our launch in January 2009, we have been the fastest growing and become the largest chapter in the country.
Our mission statement:
To maintain a professional platform for the purpose of education and networking with an open forum that embraces all types of industry products and techniques. To encourage a non-political atmosphere displaying an attitude of humbleness with a willingness to share and mentor those who continue their desire to gain knowledge and skill.
One of our goals as a chapter is to help our members be successful in this industry by increasing their knowledge base, weather that be for perfecting their craft or growing their business or networking. Our monthly meetings include guest speakers who cover topics ranging from business development ideas to new product lines and demonstrations to the latest techniques and finishes. And as a huge benefit to our members, we bring in guest instructors from all over the country and locally to teach classes at discounted rates. All product manufactures are welcome, all techniques, and all art forms. We have many members who own local studios that also offer excellent instruction. Our local talent runs deep and wide with some of our members having 20+ years experience in the industry. Joining our group is an excellent way to network, exchange ideas, learn, and build friendships.
Our group is also committed to giving back to the community. We want to help those who are less fortunate than we are by bringing joy through art. We feel that we can help in two major ways. One is by providing actual painting and artwork to facilities such as hospitals and nursing homes. The other is by selling our art in fundraisers for charities and other community projects. We decide as a group who we can help, and then we work with our Philanthropy committee to put our plans into action. It’s fun for us and great for everybody.
If you would like to come see what we are about we have meetings on the last Tuesday of every month except for the months of November and December at the Tracy Gee Community Center. Please see more information about this on pages contained in this website.
